Squalene, an essential ingredient for our body
You may have heard of squalene for its cosmetic use, but did you know that it is also an excellent ally for athletes? We tell you a little more about the star ingredient of SqualOX Sport and SqualOX Sport Elite!
Origin of squalene
Squalene is a natural organic compound originally obtained from the liver oil of deep-sea sharks. The story goes that ancient fishermen in Suruga Bay (Japan) were known for their strength and vitality, which they obtained by consuming shark liver extracts. But now we do not need to resort to animal sources, because we have a much more sustainable and environmentally and animal-friendly plant source to obtain this extraordinary molecule: olives.
For our company, environmental protection is a priority, and for this reason the squalene we use for SqualOX Sport and Squalox Sport Elite is 100% vegetable, thus helping to protect marine fauna and in particular the shark, an increasingly protected species.
Our body also contains squalene
What you may not know is that our body also contains squalene and the high concentration in newborns is responsible for the softness of their skin and the development of their immune system. But from about the age of 25, the squalene content in our body begins to decrease, which leads to the appearance of negative effects such as cellular aging, accelerated by the vigorous practice of some sport.
So at the O2livotecnia Institute, after testing the product for more than five years with top-level athletes and sports teams on an international scale, we found that an extra supply of squalene can alleviate this loss and protect us against various important diseases; so we made it the main active ingredient in SqualOX Sport and SqualOX Sport Elite.
Thanks to the process called O2livotecnia® we achieve the appropriate synergy between squalene and powerful natural antioxidants (among which are: Hydroxytyrosol, Tyrosol, among others) so that the active ingredients enhance each other and increase their effects.
