Origin of squalene
Squalene is a natural organic compound originally obtained from the liver oil of deep-sea sharks. The story goes that ancient fishermen in Suruga Bay (Japan) were known for their strength and vitality, which they obtained by consuming shark liver extracts. But now we do not need to resort to animal sources, because we have a much more sustainable and environmentally and animal-friendly plant source to obtain this extraordinary molecule: olives.
